Rules:
1. All animals to be sold in the Junior Fair Sale must have been shown in the Junior Fair market classes.
2. If an animal designated for the Jr. Fair Sale dies during the fair, the exhibitor cannot participate in the Jr. Fair Sale. Exhibitors will still receive premiums earned.

3. There will be additional emphasis placed on a desirable market weight. Minimum pounds for beef steers must be 950 pounds, Swine 200 pounds, Sheep 85 pounds, Market Goat 50 pounds, Feeder Calves 300 pounds to 650 pounds, Rabbits Pen of Three, each rabbit should weight no more than 5.5 pounds and Poultry Pen of Three, each chicken should weigh no more than 7 pounds each. All animals go through the scales once, no re-weighing.
4. Livestock Committee representatives obtain a market value with livestock buyers.
5. An exhibitor may pass through the sale ring only one time so as to permit only one sale per exhibitor in either beef, dairy, poultry, turkey, rabbits, sheep, swine or market goat.
6. If an exhibitor has a Market Grand Champion and/or Reserve Grand Champion, they all must sell. Except feeder calves, they are not a terminal market animal. They have the option. All Champion & Reserve Champion single lambs, swine, goat, and beef steers must go to Jacoby’s in West Unity and the carcass will be inspected by Ohio Department of Agriculture.
7. All market livestock going through the Junior Fair Sale must go to a buyer or packer. Exhibitors may sell any additional market animals at market price to a packer privately.

9. Each exhibitor is responsible to the buyers for the animal(s) until they are loaded on the packers' truck.
10. Junior Fair Sale Fee will be based on 5% of the gross sale for Junior Fair improvements.

12. The order of sale rotates yearly. The division of livestock sold first one year will be sold last the following year. Single market animals will be sold first then the market pens. A division being added to the sale starts at the bottom of the order.
13. Junior Fair Sale Committee is responsible for all areas of the sale; banking, promotion and advertising, selecting and coordinating auctioneers, consignors, appraisals, and show and sale barn.
14. A number system will be used for bidding at the Junior Fair Sale. Previous year buyers will be sent a number. Extra numbers will be available at the sale for new buyers.
15. Buyer or buyer's representative will receive a statement at the Junior Fair Sale. Buyers are asked to be ready to pay immediately following the sale. Buyers will receive buyer recognition banners when they receive their statement at the sale.

17. Dairy exhibitors will walk a dairy project through the ring individually and "sell" it to the highest bidder. The animal remains the property of the Junior Fair exhibitor.
18. Any exhibitor wanting to donate to the Junior Fair Buildings or 4‑H Activities Fund must fill out and sign a form consenting to a specific percentage (5 percent, 10 percent, etc.) figured on Gross Sale Value, to be deducted by no later than Friday noon and signed by parent or guardian.
19. Exhibitors must be present or have arranged for another Junior Fair member to present their animal in the sale arena. No animals will be sold without the youth or their representative present. Respective Senior Fairboard barn superintendent must be notified of the authorized substitute representative.
