Weigh‑in:  Saturday, Sept. 6, 10:30 a.m.

Show:  Sunday, Sept. 7, 12:30 p.m.

Release date & time: The release date for each species will be determined by the Livestock Committee.  The load out times must be before 9:00 a.m. or after 9:00 p.m. of the release date.  Check your barn for the release date. 

 Pedestrian safety must be observed at all times.

Rules (Refer to Junior Fair General Rules regarding Quality Assurance):

1.        Exhibitors must have a Certificate of Veterinary Inspection within 30 days of the fair and present a DUNF form at the fair.  No health papers will be written at the fair.

2.        All exhibitors shall abide by the Junior Fair Rules and Regulations regarding tampering and/or misrepresentation, fitting and showing.

3.        Animals should be exercised daily for better animal health.

4.        Limit of two entries in each class.

5.        All dairy goat breeds will be shown together by age.

6.        Doe & daughter pairs must be shown in their respective individual classes as well.

7.        White pants and shirt with matching belt and shoes in white, black or brown.  No writing, farm name, advertising or 4-H or FFA logos allowed on clothing.

8.        Showmanship classes will lead show order starting with Senior Showmanship.

9.        Market Goats must weigh a minimum of 50 pounds to be sold in the Junior Fair Sale. All market animals will be ear tagged with a number corresponding with the show number. All animals go through the scales once. No reweighs.

10.     Market goats with any percentage of Boer Goat ancestry will be required to show in a Boer Market Class. The Boer Champion and Reserve Champion will not compete against the Market Dairy Champion and Reserve Champion for Grand Champion and Reserve Grand Champion Market Goat.  There will be a Champion and Reserve Champion Market Boar and a Grand Champion and Reserve Champion Dairy Market Goat.

11.     Harness Kid-kids must be halter broken and led with a lead strap. Animal should respond to voice commands of stop, go, and back.

12.     Harness Yearling-yearlings will be harnessed and pull an empty cart. The animal should respond to voice commands of stop, go, back, left and right.

13.     Senior Harness-seniors will be harnessed and pull a child-driven cart. The animal must respond to commands of stop, go, back, left and right while pulling the cart through an obstacle course.

14.     Aisles and pens are to be kept clean throughout the fair. After the sale, manure is to be removed from the pens. If pen areas are not clean, exhibitor will forfeit premium.

15.     All female and intact male goats must have the official USDA scrapie Id tag affixed to the ear or tattooed into the ear or tail at fair check in. Registration papers in conjunction with the appropriate tattoo placed into the ear or tail will be accepted in leu of an official USDA scrapie id. Animals without this official tag will not be allowed to enter the fairgrounds or compete at the Williams County Fair.

16.     All market and dairy goats must be dehorned.

17.     If an animal designated for the Jr. Fair Sale dies during the fair, the exhibitor cannot participate in the Jr. Fair Sale.  Exhibitors will still receive premiums earned.

18.     Once an animal has left the fairgrounds, it will not be allowed back onto the grounds.

  7. Only one Showmanship Class will be conducted if under five participants.
  8. Aisles and pens are to be kept clean throughout the fair. After the sale, manure is to be removed from the pens. If pen areas are not clean, exhibitor will forfeit premium.

Angora Goat Rules:

1.        Exhibitors must have a Certificate of Veterinary Inspection within 30 days of the fair.

2.        Limit of two entries in each class.

3.        Classes are open to commercial or registered animals.

4.        White pants and shirt with matching belt and shoes in white, black or brown.  No writing, farm name, advertising or 4-H or FFA logos allowed on clothing.

5.        Must have five participants to warrant conducting 4 showmanship classes. Only one showmanship class will be conducted if under five participants.

6.        All animals must be exercised daily for better animal health.

7.        Aisles and pens are to be kept clean throughout the fair. Manure is to be removed from the pens. If pen areas are not clean, exhibitor will forfeit premium.
