DOG DIVISION

Rules:

1.        All dogs participating in the Williams County Junior Fair shall be immunized against distemper(CDV), adenovirus (CAV-1 & CAV-2), leptospirosis, parainfluenza (CPI), parvo virus(CPV),  and rabies by a licensed, accredited veterinarian.

2.        The required vaccinations must be current on the day of the Williams County Fair show and be administered by a licensed, accredited veterinarian. These are the dates required for showing a dog at the Williams County Fair. It is the exhibitor's responsibility to make sure that the dates for the State Fair vaccination requirements, as well as the dates for the county fair requirements are met.

3.        An ODA Official Health Certificate or Certificate of Vaccination for the 4-H Dog Show project signed by a licensed, accredited veterinarian is required. These certificates must include the name, breed and age of the dog. Other certificates of vaccination, pet record cards or kennel records will not be accepted. When getting an ODA HEALTH Certificate of Vaccination for the 4-H Dog Show PROJECT, be certain the dates of the required vaccinations, including the rabies vaccination, are listed. Make certain certificates are signed by the veterinarian.

4.        All exhibitors shall abide by the Junior Fair Rules and Regulations regarding tampering and/or misrepresentation.

5.        A member may show only one dog in showmanship and one obedience dog per level.

6.        Each exhibitor will keep their dog on a leash while on the fairgrounds, except when participating in the ring and judging. Only dogs competing in the Junior Fair show may be on the grounds during the Williams County Fair.

7.        Females in season, lactating, or pregnant will not be exhibited.

8.        Each exhibitor will provide their own leash, collar and water dish for their dogs.

9.        For rules of conduct refer to those specified in the Ohio State Fair Dog Activities Rules for State Fair Participation.

10.     Each dog shown must be accompanied by its appropriate 4-H project book.

11.     All youth exhibiting dogs must present a score card as proof of attending a minimum of one dog show prior to the Williams County Fair.

12.     All youth must attend a Small Animal Clinic.
